May Field Trip: Seoul Arts Museum

This month we visited the Seoul Arts Museum.

The exhibit we went to consisted of artwork by children’s illustrators around the world - Korea, US, Japan, France, England…

Cory and I really enjoyed the exhibit; we thoroughly enjoy looking at children’s books and illustrations. The students seemed a little less impressed. Most of them were zoning out the whole time and getting scolded by museum staff for touching the walls and pictures. They also kept asking when we’d be eating lunch. Oh, kids.

I’d say I enjoy field trips in general, but I don’t think the kids get all that much out of it. They just want to play and hang out with their friends. Lunch time and a little bit of playtime outside is always the highlight of any field trip. I wish we could take the kids to like a Kidz Kingdom-esque place; ball pits and slides and just chaotic fun! Other schools do it, why can’t we? I wish we didn’t try and force so much information down their throats at every field trip. This IS only kindergarten… Well, the good thing about field trips is that we’re out of school and not doing normal lessons. And once again, two kids from my class brought delicious food for the teachers to eat. I always look forward to eating field trip lunches. :)

Here are some pictures:

Boarding the bus - We always take two luxury coaches when we go on field trips.

Everyone loves Mr. Weaver!

She’s one of the most beautiful girls at our school, and very feisty. She has a big brother, which probably explains it. Last time I gave out stickers at school she picked Spiderman. :)

Standard picture pose.

The tour guide. Wish I could have understood what she was explaining. Someday I’ll be fluent…?

Cory likes.

The flying gorilla! Also a very fun place where the children could read books.

We watched the animated version of the book Cloud Bread. Very cute book and illustrations!!!

Building blocks.

Back to the reading area.

Cory was too busy helping all the children at lunch, he couldn’t get very many shots.

After lunch we headed to the astroturf to play.

Mr. Weaver is fun to chase!

They look thrilled! Maybe they’re gossiping.

Cory will be a really good dad.

Trying to organize a class photo.

It went well.

Heading back to school.

THE END. Hope you enjoyed.
